Life is Life

This year has been a challenging one, two people sick in my husbands family with cancer and a mother-in-law hospitalized in a medically induced coma after an operation.  One could sit around and wish for the year to end.  A lot of people would do just that, but the people with these illnesses are an inspiration to the human spirit.
The three woman I speak of are full of life, giving to others and never let anything get them down.  All those around them in healthier times would say they were "the life of the party".  Their love of family and others in their lives have helped us to appreciate our own lives at the present time and better appreciate those around us.  I know that all of my children have been more attentive and have appreciated the little things we do for them where before they might not have.  We have been given a chance to live our lives and appreciate all of our family being healthy and learned not to complain about anything.   When those around you become ill, it helps you to take a step back and appreciate the little things in life as well as those that touch your life daily.
Life is life and though sometimes we find ourselves in difficult times......it still goes on and we must appreciate being able to live it to the fullest.

Between the Lines

It seems that every mom has a blog complaining about life and how hard it is.  Funny quips about their day, taxing kids, changing diapers, but what happens to moms after this part of life?
It seems like after a mom transitions back to work, kids grow older that a mom finds that she is in the "between" stage, not quite without children, but kids are older and less needy.  This is the time when many of us find ourselves again from our "before children" stage.  We look into the mirror and see the same woman only now with a few signs that we've "been around the block".  We've grown older, wiser and the experiences we've had create a more sophisticated thinker and the eagerness to learn new things is endless.  Thus the mom is now the woman again and ready to try a new adventure or two.
   Let the adventures begin!!!!
